Privacy Policy
Last updated 16 August 2026
Agaah is a news reader. There are no accounts, no advertising and no third-party tracking. This page describes everything we collect, which is very little.
The short version
- You do not create an account and we never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone.
- We do not show ads and we do not embed advertising or analytics trackers in the app.
- Your saved stories stay on your device.
What we collect
If you turn on notifications
Enabling notifications creates a push token — an anonymous identifier issued by Expo and Google that lets us deliver a notification to your device. We store that token, whether the device is Android or iOS, and the dates it was registered and last seen.
A push token is not linked to you. It contains no name, email, phone number or advertising ID, and it cannot be used to identify you. We use it only to send the news digest. Turning notifications off in your device settings stops delivery, and tokens that stop working are deleted automatically.
Stories you save
Bookmarks are written to your device’s local storage and are never sent to us. They are not backed up to our servers, and uninstalling the app deletes them.
Website visitors
On agaah.in we use Vercel Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. It does not track you across other websites.
Ordinary server logs
Like any website, our host records requests, including IP address and browser type, to serve pages and block abuse. These are kept briefly and are not used to build a profile.
What we do not collect
No name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, precise location, microphone or camera access, and no advertising identifier. The app requests internet access, and notification permission only if you choose to enable it.
News content and other publishers
Agaah gathers headlines and short summaries from 36 news organisations and links back to the original article. Those summaries are the publishers’ own words and the reporting belongs to them. When you tap through to read a full story, you leave Agaah and that publisher’s own privacy policy applies — we have no control over, and no visibility into, what they collect.
Children
Agaah is a general news service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices
- Turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
- Clear saved stories from within the app.
- Uninstalling the app removes local data and stops the push token being used.
To have a stored push token deleted, contact us and we will remove it. Because tokens are anonymous, please send the request from the device concerned so we can identify which token to delete.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in the app.
